Belgrade, 16 Jan 2015 – First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic made the following statement on the occasion of completing the adoption procedure for the Individual Partnership Action Plan between the Republic of Serbia and NATO:
“I am pleased to announce that the procedure for the adoption of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) between the Republic of Serbia and NATO has been successfully completed on 15 January 2015.
IPAP as the highest form of cooperation with NATO through the Partnership for Peace, which does not imply membership in the Alliance, aims at assisting the partner country in the reform and modernization of defence and security systems. This document clearly and transparently highlights our goals and priorities which we want to achieve through cooperation with NATO.
Adoption of IPAP is a significant step forward in our relations with NATO and creates the conditions for a regular and structured dialogue, including dialogue at the political level. I also expect that IPAP will facilitate the coordination of our bilateral cooperation with NATO member states and their partners.I would like to point out that the activities have been undertaken in accordance with our commitment to actively participate in the Partnership for Peace, as well as in line with the policy of military neutrality of the Republic of Serbia”.
