Brussels, 16 December 2014 - The Mission of the Republic of Serbia to NATO assumed the chairmanship of SEEGROUP (South East Europe Security Steering Group) at a meeting that was held at the ambassadorial level at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels on 16 December.
The SEEGROUP is an informal and flexible forum for security and political consultations on issues of importance to the region of Southeast Europe. This forum brings together partner countries of the Western Balkans, NATO and the Western European NATO partners.
At the meeting Macedonian Mission to NATO presented results of the SEEGROUP chairmanship in 2014. In his speech, Head of the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to NATO Ambassador Miomir Udovicki informed about the priorities of the Serbian presidency of the SEEGROUP and announced that the accompanying Action Plan will be presented in January next year.
Ambassador Udovicki highlighted Serbia's commitment to further improvement of regional security cooperation and announced that one of the first issues on the agenda of the SEEGROUP will be the priorities of the OESC chairmanship, which Serbia will also take over in 2015.
