The 11th class attending the Advanced Security and Defence Studies, University of Defence, visited European and Euro-Atlantic political and security institutions headquartered in Brussels as part of their study trip. The Defence University and the Advanced Security and Defence Studies delegation visited the NATO headquarters, the European External Action Service, and the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Serbia in the capital of Belgium.
The Advanced Security and Defence Studies participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with NATO’s and EU’s current and future activities related to the implementation of current strategic concepts of these organizations.
During the visit the Head of the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to NATO, Ambassador Branimir Filipović, and the Head of the Military Representation within the Mission, Colonel Milan Ranković, organized a briefing for the Advanced Security and Defence Studies participants as well as for members of the Defence University delegation on Serbia-NATO partnership relations.
The delegation also includes the Rector of the Defence University, Lieutenant General Goran Radovanović, the Head of "Vojvoda Radomir Putnik" National Defence School, Colonel Mićo Suvajac, and the Head of the Advanced Security and Defence Studies, Colonel Branko S. Mišić.
The Defence University and the Advanced Security and Defence Studies delegation during the study trip also visited Paris and the military educational and political and security institutions of the Republic of France.
A study trip to Western European countries is organized every academic year for the Advanced Security and Defence Studies participants, in accordance with the training program. It aims to familiarize them with the collective and cooperative security and defence systems, as well as the national systems.
